At this meeting they were going to announce the changes in boundaries and put in a new Bishopric in for a Declo 3rd Ward.

Comments from the new Declo 3rd Ward Members:

Dan and ByraLou Darrington- Dan and I were both amazed to think that what originally was one ward when we were married has become four wards. Growth and change are a part of life, but it did take us by surprise...

Amy Osterhout- That question makes me laugh, I did the happy dance when I heard. I just knew I would be changed out of Relief Society and I looked forward to doing something else. I love my Sunday school class...

Melanie Clark- I was excited...

Virgene Darrington- I'm still trying to think of a good name. We've lived in the Declo Ward, Declo 1st in everything, Declo 2nd to none, and now the Declo 3rd Ward

Marcee Nebaker- I was excited to be able to get to know new people

Carolyn Gillete- said it would be exciting to see it all come about

Julie Silcock- I was ready for change and excited to shake up things

Braden Darrington- I just wanted all my friends to still be in my ward!!!

Amy Blauer- I just wondered exactly where would the boundaries be

Mindy Vail- Wondered who would be in our ward

Teresa Darrington- I was worried that my kids were not going to be in my ward

Val Darrington- I was surprised it didn't happen sooner and wondered if I would be in a ward full of Darrington's!

Lorna Gillette- Looked forward to see who would be in the ward

Tasia Cantou- I just wanted to still be in my Grandparent's ward

Monet' Thomander- Immediately wondered if my sister would be in another ward

Dustin and Robyn Olsen- We just moved here from Jerome and they had just split our ward down there we move here and another ward split

Declo 3rd Ward History written by Char Darrington

"When the Lord said, "There shall be record kept among you" (D&C)21:1, he was not only referring not only to the munutes, attendance records, and historical notes of activities, but also the histories of the Church organizations, local units, and even individuals and families."

The Young Women have had a fun busy year, since the new ward was developed they have got two new beehives Rebeccah Darrington in August and Teagan Nance in November. The young Women have had lots of neat activity's this year.

Story by Emily Osterhout- On December 10th 2011 we went to Twin Falls with the Young Women, It was so much fun. We went roller skating at SkateLand, after that we went to Sister Darrington's Mother's house to learn about her doll collection. We ate at Gerdies and later went to see the live nativity in Rock Creek. We all had a blast, and loved spending time together.

Story by Sarah Osterhout- On December Young Women in Excellence was held at the church.

Young Women in Excellence was fun, there were wonderful talks given by some of the leaders. The theme was Follow the Yellow Brick Road. There were so many decorations. The refreshments were very good.

Relief Society

President- Laura Harper

Secretary- Shirley Matthews
2nd Counselor- Joan Erickson

1st Counselor- Sherrie Hurst (not pictured)

The Relief Society has done a lot of different activities since the new Ward was created, they had a hat party where different women were asked to talk on the "different hats" they where, all the sisters that came were asked to wear there favorite hat also. It was a very fun night that everyone enjoyed. The Relief Society tied quilts one night and had a lesson on service where different sisters spoke on a service that was rendered to them or a service that they did.

They had a Christmas meeting where they had different sisters speak on family Christmas Traditions and they shared what there families did every Christmas. This was a really fun opportunity to learn of different traditions that families in our ward did.

Humanitarian Projects

The Humanitarian efforts were amazing this year for our ward. Carolyn Gillett has been asked to be in charge and she has done a great job providing opportunities for our ward to be a part of the church's humanitarian project.

In 2011 our ward did:

12 file folder games,

115 hygiene kits
59 school kits

Pretty impressive numbers. Our ward is proud to be a part of these projects that were taken to Salt Lake to be delivered to those people in need.
